Audio Clip of Damone Talking About Sinatra Available

(February 2018) On February 12, the world lost legendary singer, showman and actor, Vic Damone. In his honor, Envision Networks® and Wink Martindale, celebrated host of The 100 Greatest Christmas Hits of All Time, are making a short audio clip available that radio can use immediately.

The clip, in which Damone touches on his relationship with Frank Sinatra, is from an interview that Martindale did with Damone for the Hall of Fame Series by Wink Martindale audio books.

“Without question Vic Damone was among the all-time best singing popular classics from the Great American Songbook,” said Wink Martindale. “Frank Sinatra said ‘Vic had the best pipes in the business.’ That says it all.”

Damone, known for hits such as “I Have But One Heart” and “You Do,” passed away at age 89 in Florida. Along with his prolific singing career, Damone was also known for television shows such as “The Vic Damone Show” and movies “Hit the Deck” and Kismet.”

Join us in remembering Vic Damone*. Two audio clips from the Hall of Fame Series audio book can be heard below:
