Comedy and Television Legend to Appear Sunday, Sept. 18

Television and comedy royalty Carol Burnett will join host Ed Kalegi on Envision Networks® America Weekend on Sunday, Sept. 18. The program can be heard on affiliate stations on the Envision Talk Network throughout the country. The interview will also be available digitally on iHeartRadio and audioBoom on Monday, Sept. 19.

Burnett discusses The Carol Burnett Show, which aired from 1967 to 1978, and was an important part of the fiber and fabric of American television and culture. She and Kalegi talk about the unique way the show ended up on CBS in the first place and why it still resonates today through DVDs and Digital Media. Ms. Burnett discusses her favorite guests, the magic of that incredible cast, the state of comedy in 2016 and much more in this captivating conversation.

“We’ve had some big names on the show, but to have a chance to sit down and chat with Carol is a dream come true,” Kalegi said.

Carol Burnett has been awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor and is a Kennedy Center Honoree. Her latest book, In Such Good Company: Eleven Years of Laughter, Mayhem, and Fun in the Sandbox, is available now.

Ed Kalegi has hosted America Weekend with Ed Kalegi for the past two years. He is a long-time voice on New York City Radio, and has acted in several films and television series.

Designed to be a break from the usual brokered programming and political fare of most News/Talk stations, America Weekend covers the lighter side of news and lifestyle issues facing today’s on-the-go talk listeners. America Weekend offers 11 new hours of original programming each weekend. The new lineup includes hosts Doug Stephan, Ed Kalegi and Valerie Smaldone.
