Comedian Discusses Season Three of ‘Jay Leno’s Garage’ and Favorite Episode with Colin Powell racing Joe Biden in Corvettes
(JUNE 2017) TV Hall of Fame comedian Jay Leno spoke with affiliates of Envision Networks®’ Guest Services about the third season of his TV show Jay Leno’s Garage. Leno is best known for hosting The Tonight Show from 1992 to 2009 and again from 2010 to 2014. He is now kicking off season three of Jay Leno’s Garage with back-to-back episodes airing Wednesday, June 28 at 9 and 10 p.m. ET on CNBC.
In an interview with Nolan, Malone and Kullik on WMJI/Cleveland, Leno talked about an episode of Jay Leno’s Garage where he had Colin Powell racing Joe Biden in Corvettes. He explains that Biden received a Corvette in 1967 from his dad as a wedding gift and Powell had just recently bought a Corvette.
“The Secret Service just went crazy,” Leno said. “[Biden] almost slides into Colin Powell. And the Secret Service [is saying], ‘Slow Biden down. Get in front of him. Slow him down, slow him down.’ I mean, it was really funny.”

Leno also talked about the wide variety of guests he will have on his show from Wanda Sykes to Ted Koppel and how great it is that there are no publicists or agents involved. This season he will have former President George W. Bush on the show and they will discuss how presidents are never allowed to drive again once they take office. He also discussed how it was easier to make a political joke when he was a late night TV host because if people were angry with him, they would just send him an email. Now when people get mad they use “devices.”
