Mourners Nationwide can Listen in to Remember The Monkees’ Guitarist

Yesterday, the news of Peter Tork’s passing shocked the musical world. Tork was a blues and folk musician who became a heartthrob overnight with the success of The Monkees in the 60s. Tork mostly played bass and keyboard for the Monkees and was also known as the ‘jokester’ of the group. His endearing personality and lovable character will be greatly missed.

“We’ve lost another link to our childhood. Eight days after his 77th birthday, Peter Tork of the Monkees passed away yesterday,” MeTV FM Program Director, Rick O’Dell said. “Affiliates of MeTV FM will feature a long-form tribute to Peter and the group all day today and the Monkees are the featured artists on all MeTV FM stations.”

Listeners are appreciating the tribute

“So glad I got to hear your noon tribute to Peter T.,” posted a listener named Lola. “I even ate my lunch in the car so I wouldn’t miss a minute. Thanks for the memories.”
